There is no change in Pakistan's principled stand on Kashmir issue, clarifies FO following PM's statement

The FO issued this statement following PM's statement that Pakistan will allow the Kashmiris to decide between choosing to join Pakistan or remaining independent even after they vote in favour of Pakistan.
"Pakistan remains firmly committed to the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through free and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices as enshrined in the relevant UNSC resolutions," FO added.

On Wednesday, Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem introduced the 26th Amendment Bill, which included amendments to allow open balloting in the Senate election and dual nationals to contest the polls.
Qureshi contended that Pakistan Tehreek- e-Insaf will stand committed with its principled stand of ensuring transparency in Senate election, whether the amendment gets approved or rejected in the House.

Sindh reports 23 deaths, 579 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

11,125 samples were tested, out of which 579 – 5.2 per cent – turned out to be positive.
About 19,024 patients are under treatment, of them 18,362 are in home isolation, 15 at isolation centers and 647 at different hospitals.

979 health workers inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine in Sindh

Apart from Karachi, 129 health workers were vaccinated at Liaquat University of Medical Sciences (LUMS) and 186 at Shaheed Benazirabad’s MCH centre.
Sindh has been provided 84,000 doses of the vaccine, Punjab 70,000, KP 65,000, and Balochistan 10,300 doses.

Sinopharm vaccine not suitable for people above 60, pregnant women: SAPM Dr. Faisal Sultan

According to the country's top health authorities, the Chinese manufactured Sinopharm vaccine is not suitable and recommended for people above the age of 60, under the age of 18, and specifically for pregnant women - among others.
According to Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, people above 60 would be vaccinated with Oxford-AstraZeneca’s vaccine AZD1222, which is due for arrival in Pakistan in February.
