She said the United States believes a summit would be a good step forward toward "the development of a stable and predictable relationship" between the two countries.
President Joe Biden proposed a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a telephone call on Tuesday, and spokeswoman Jen Psaki said she hoped for an honest and candid conversation between the leaders at such a meeting.
"We are determined to protect America's networks and to meet the growing challenge posed by our adversaries in cyberspace - and this is the team to do it," White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement.
Easterly and Inglis are experienced cybersecurity experts with decades of service in government. Both previously worked at the National Security Agency in senior positions.
Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council Tyler Moran earlier told MSNBC: "We've secured agreements for them to put more troops on their own border. Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala have all agreed to do this," CNN reported separately.
Other measures include boosting support for agencies involved in tackling community violence and ordering the first comprehensive report on firearms trafficking in the United States since 2000.
Vaccine supply has increased significantly in the United States in recent weeks as Johnson & Johnson has begun making millions of doses of its recently authorized shots.
Psaki said the White House has been monitoring the situation and it has found 17pc of Florida's population is African-American, but less than 7pc are vaccinated.
AstraZeneca, whose vaccine has not been approved in the United States, said it will work with President Joe Biden's administration to find an alternative site to produce its vaccine.
"This is a decision that HHS made with Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca in complete collaboration," White House COVID-19 adviser Andy Slavitt told reporters during a press conference.
"President Biden affirmed the United States' unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia's ongoing aggression in the Donbass and Crimea," the statement said.
"The leaders agreed these reforms are central to Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations," the statement said.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the meeting would be hosted by Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan and a top economic aide, Brian Deese.
