The leader of opposition in National Assembly and his son sought a two-week parole on Monday. On Wednesday, the provincial cabinet approved only a five-day parole and forwarded the summary to CM for approval.

With the approval, the Shehbaz and Hamza would be let out of jail on parole to attend the funeral of Nawaz Sharif's mother, Begum Shamim Akhtar, a day before the body arrives in Pakistan.

• "They are welcome to come to Pakistan and attend the funeral," Faraz tweeted.

Their plea is linked to the approval from the cabinet’s subcommittee, after the approval it would be forwarded to the chief minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.
