A video showing lawmakers allegedly receiving money for voting for the PPP candidates in the 2018 Senate polls whipped up a storm on Tuesday.
The three-member committee will feature Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari and Adviser to the PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar.
The European Commission said in response to the move that it "regrets that the United States has chosen to add further EU products to its retaliation list in the WTO Airbus case on aircraft subsidies."
He said that Opposition should launch drive to hold Speaker and Chairman Senate elections with open balloting so that transparency could also be maintained in a proper manner.
On Wednesday, Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem introduced the 26th Amendment Bill, which included amendments to allow open balloting in the Senate election and dual nationals to contest the polls.
Qureshi contended that Pakistan Tehreek- e-Insaf will stand committed with its principled stand of ensuring transparency in Senate election, whether the amendment gets approved or rejected in the House.
On Monday, the Senate approved the Compulsory Teaching of the Arabic Language Bill 2020, making the teaching of Arabic mandatory in primary and secondary schools in Islamabad.
“An order has been place through the Chinese foreign office and its embassy in Pakistan,” said Mandviwalla.
“There is no need [to follow] PPRA (Public Procurement Regulatory Authority) rules, the prime minister can just exempt vaccine procurement from PPRA rules,” said the deputy chairman.
The Foreign Minister said that the Senate Standing Committee lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the acquisition of Covid-19 vaccine.
