The European Cocoa Association will release data for second-quarter cocoa grinds, a measure of demand, next Tuesday while data for North America is expected on Thursday.
Arabica has been easing off a 4-1/2-year high touched this month with the return of rains in top arabica producer Brazil and coffee again flowing to ports in No. 2 producer Colombia.
Dealers said the weather in the Centre-South region of Brazil remained a focus with some showers forecast this week although overall conditions remain dry.
Rains that are forecast to reach Brazil's main coffee areas this weekend and intensify in the days after could delay some harvest work, but are expected to improve conditions for next year's crop.
The rise from $2,317 observed closely a set of retracements of the downtrend from $2,728 to $2,317. After breaking $2,474, cocoa is expected to test the next support at $2,414.
