Nearly 9,000 new infections in the past 24 hours took the country's caseload to 1,006,428 -- the second-highest in Southeast Asia -- with 16,853 fatalities, government figures show.
The Philippines, which has the second-highest number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Southeast Asia, is facing a renewed wave of infections, with nearly 20,000 new cases reported in the past four days.
Proceeds from the bond sale, which initially raised 221.2 billion pesos at a Feb 9 auction for financial institutions and includes a bond exchange offer worth 51.5 billion pesos.
