As per details, the OGDCL as the operator (95 percent) and Government Holding (Private) Limited (5%) has discovered gas and condensate from its exploratory well Sial-1, which is located in district Hyderabad, Sindh province.
Based on open hole logs data, the well was tested at a rate of 1.6 Milion Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD) of gas and 12 Barrels per day (BPD) of condensate through 32/64" choke at Well Head Flowing Pressure of 190 Pounds per square inch (PSI) from Samanasuk Formation.
“Discovery of 1 trillion+ cubic feet of gas in Kalat, Balochistan, brings good news in controlling Pakistan's energy crisis for the residential and commercial sector,” said the minister.
The Joint Venture of Baratai Block comprising OGDCL as operator (97.5%) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil & Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) (2.5%) has discovered Gas & Condensate from its exploratory Well Siab-1, announced the company on Friday.
The company said that the Drill Stem Tests (DSTs) carried out in SUL Formation flowed gas at a rate of 11 MMSCFD at wellhead flow pressure (WHFP) of 887 Psi at 48/64 inch choke size after acid job.
