imawertgasKARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers, LPG and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.

 Meanwhile four more ships with containers, chemical, phosphoric acid and iron ore also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

 Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port Qasim at 50% on Tuesday where seven ships namely ships C.V Sealand Michigan, C.V Al- Mutanabbi, M.V Leopard-B, M.V BBC Quebec, M.V POA Vosa Wisdom-VI, M.T Gas Husky and M.T Al-Deerah are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, gen.cargo, fertilizer, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

 Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 77,244 tonnes, comprises 67,358 tonnes imports and 9,886 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,870 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim.

 Two ships M.V BBC Quebec and M.T Gas Husky sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while four more ships C.V Sealand Michigan, C.V Al- Mutanabbi, M.V Leopard-B and M.T Al-Deerah are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

 A total of seven ships C.V CMA CGM Puccni, M.V Liberty Sun, M.T Dobrush, M.T Harsanadi, M.T Gennaro Levoli, M.T Fuji Galaxy and M.T Pioneer scheduled to load/offlad containers, wheat, iron ore, chemicals, phosphoric acid, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths QICT, FAP, IOCB, MW-I, EVTI LCT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday.

 Two ships C.V Hammona Husum and C.V NYK Kai are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, and three ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Asian Trader and M.V Ocean Prince are due arrive on Friday.
