imageSOUTH WAZIRISTAN: As many as 78,000 children would be vaccinated during the ongoing anti-polio campaign in areas of the agency, said political administration here on Wednesday.

According to details, 78,000 children would be administered anti-polio drops in areas of South Waziristan including Barmal, Wana, Toay Khula, Shkai and border area, Angoor Adda.

Political administration confirmed that polio campaign that was resumed after a gap of 30 months was so far running smoothly with the help and assistance of Army and Khasadar Force and tribal elders.

Political Agent South Waziristan, Islam Zaen said that a close liaison has been established between APA Wana and Agency Surgeon to avoid any untoward incidents and to achieve desired target from the campaign.

Agency Surgeon, Dr. Jehanzeb also visited bordering areas of Angor Adda and appreciated the role of tribal elders in the current anti-polio drive. He urged tribal to vaccinate their children and save them from permanent crippling.
