imagePESHAWAR: Acting Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asad Qaiser Monday said that pragmatic measures are being taken to make Pakistan corruption free and prosperous.

Inaugurating a sports complex in district Swabi, he said that revolutionary measures have been put in place to curb corrupt practices in development projects, adding that contracts for development projects are awarded after tenders on website.

He said the measures to curb corruption are affecting the pace of development projects but these inevitable to eliminate corruption and save national exchequer.

The Acting Governor said that the constitution of accountability commission in KP would further tighten the noose against corruption officials , adding that the commission would not be used to victimize anybody.

He said that a considerable amount has been allocated in KP budget for health, education, sport and agriculture sectors. The provincial government would construct stadiums at union council and Tehsil level to provide sports facilities to poor people, he maintained.
