imageISLAMABAD: Senator Rehman Malik of Pakistan Peoples Party Tuesday expressed the hope that the current political turmoil would soon end with a solution acceptable to all stakeholders.

Talking to journalists here outside the Parliament House, he admired the government for showing patience till now, due to which, he said, he was confident that a consensus solution would be reached by the political parties.

He said the deadlock in negotiations were part of politics, but he was optimist that the poltical impasse would end soon. Pakistan Peoples Party, he added, believes in flourshing of democracy and sanctity of the Constitution.

Responding to a question about the possible role of Supreme Court in the present situation, Rehman Malik said the court orders were bound to be followed by all. "We should have the ability to solve the problems ourselves," he added.

To a question about torture of journalists by prtotestors at the sit-ins, he said such acts were cowardly, which were condemnable.

Senator Rehman Malik expressed concern over erection of tents by protestors in the premises of Parliament House, saying this was not conveying a good message to the world.

He said he was hopeful that joint sitting of Parliament would be fruitful and result-oriented.
