imagePESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted rain-thundershower at isolated places in Hazara division during next 24 hours that would hopefully bring the existing hot and humid temperature down.

According to Met office here, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions besides Kashmir are likely to receive rain due to seasonal low lie over Northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas.

Weak monsoon currents from the Arabian sea are also penetrating into upper parts of the country up to 3000 feet whereas a shallow westerly wave is also prevailing over Kashmir and adjoining areas.

As result, rain is expected in one or two places in Bannu, Kohat, Peshawar divisions and Parachinar during tonight/Thursday. Scenic touristic areas of Abbottad district such as Thandyani, Nathia Gali, Donga Gali and Ayubia are likely to receive rain during next 24 hours. However, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country.

The rain in Kalam valley has brought the temperature down and tourists has moved to the valley for tourism due to pleasant change in the weather. The maximum rain was received by Lahore & Murree 7 and Kalam 01 mm in last 24 hours.

Sukkur 41 C, Sibbi, Shaheed Benazirabad 40 C remained the hottest places of the country whereas pollen count yesterday remained 170 per m3 of air.
