NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling was under pressure on Wednesday due to increased dollar demand from merchandise importers and the energy sector, traders said.

At 0820 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 101.20/40 per dollar, compared with 101.00/20 at Tuesday's close.
