An anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended on Monday the judicial remand of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and others till February 8.

Last year in November, the TLP leader was taken in protective custody for staging violent protests countrywide. The TLP was among the many who protested the acquittal of Asia Bibi, who was sentenced to death in a blasphemy case but later on acquitted.

After the countrywide protests, Rizvi called his workers to stage a protest at Faizabad. However, he was detained two days before the protest and since then has been under custody.

During the hearing today, the jail authorities presented Rizvi and others accused before the ATC as their 14-day judicial remand ended today.  The ATC extended the judicial remand of the TLP leader for another three days, local media reported.
