3-day spring festival to kick off on Sunday

0basant-festivalISLAMABAD:In order to welcome the spring season, Government of Pakistan in collaboration with Lok Virsa and Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has planned to organize a Spring Festival here at Lok Virsa complex from Feb 24 to 26.

 

The festival would feature exhibition of artisans-at-work, kite flying exhibition, folkloric performances, traditional cuisine,musical night and several other attractions for families and children.

 

Talking to APP, Lok Virsa's Executive Director Khalid Javaid informed the festival aims to promote Pakistan's traditional culture and to welcome the blossom season.

 

The festival would highlight rich culture and traditions of Pakistan not only at a national, but also at international level,as diplomatic community residing in Pakistan has also been invited to attend the festival programmes.

 

ED,Lok Virsa apprised that the idea for holding the spring festival has been conceived by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Integration Samina Khalid Ghurki to preserve and document Pakistan's tangible and intangible culture as well as to project soft image and cultural face of the country to the outer world.
