imageThe social networking Twitter, has dismissed all rumors revolving around the introduction of a major change by the company, and all those who were outraged at this possibility can now relax.

Jack Dorsey, CEO and Co-Founder of the online social networking service had assured users that the website was not planning any changes to the way users watch other tweets. The development came after a report by BuzzFeed, which said Twitter is planning to introduce an algorithmic timeline as soon as next week.

imageAfter the BuzzFeed article was posted,’ #RIPTwitter’ became the top trending hashtag on the website, revealing just how upset were some of the loyal users.

According to Bloomberg, currently, the timeline on Twitter's site is simply based on what time a tweet was sent out i.e. Real-Time. The report said that a new algorithm based on what tweets the site thinks users want to see was in the works.

Dorsey responded by tweeting , “Twitter is live. Twitter is real-time…..And Twitter is here to stay!”

imageTwitter, which is going to report its earnings next week while, the analysts would all be concerned about one number i.e. monthly active user. If this number swings to the negative, meaning users turning to other platforms instead, it would pose a major problem for the company.

As it has been all gloomy for Twitter as the shares of the tech company have lost more than half of their value since the past year, while analysts continuing to get more negative on the firm’s prospects.
