According to Indian Media reports Bollywood film ‘2 states’ has raked in over 38 crores on its opening weekend.

The romantic comedy, based on Chetan Bhagat's bestseller novel of the same name, received third biggest opening of the year, only to fall behind Salman Khan’s ‘Jai ho’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Gunday’.

Renowned Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Ardarsh tweeted: "#2States has a FANTABULOUS weekend. Fri Rs 12.42 cr, Sat 12.13 cr, Sun 13.51 cr. Total: ? 38.06 cr nett. SUPER HIT."

The film was released in over 2000 screens across India and 300 screens overseas.

Co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the flick features Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the leads.
