imageAccording to Indian media reports Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan believes his son Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan can never “love” each other as they are “rivals”.

Recently the two writing partners Salim and Javed Akhtar came together after a long time to launch the trailer of the 1975 blockbuster film ‘Sholay’. The two parted ways about 32 years ago after penning together the hit scripts of ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewaar’ and ‘Mr. India’.

When quizzed whether the hit pair of film 'Karan Arjun' (Srk and Salman) can ever appear as Jai and Veeru in future, Salim said "They are individuals and grown up people, and such things happen, but there cannot be love between rivals. It's not possible. Only saints can do that. One should not expect that if Shah Rukh’s film is a success then Salman will dance and celebrate. Or if Salman`s film is a hit so Shah Rukh will throw a party... Its not possible."

Despite Salman and Shah Rukh hugged each other at an iftaar party earlier this year, Salim reportedly said he doesn’t see the two sharing a friendly bond for long.
