BUCHAREST: The Romanian central bank's foreign exchange reserves, excluding 103.7 tonnes of gold, rose by 2.9 billion euros to 35.47 billion euros ($39.15 billion) in July, the bank said on Thursday.

Inflows were 3.6 billion euros, including 2 billion euros worth of eurobonds tapped by debt managers in July.

Outflows totalled 729 million euros, and reflected changes in credit institutions' foreign currency required reserves, interest payments and principal repayments on foreign currency public debt.

The central bank said August payments to service external public and publicly guaranteed foreign currency debt amounted to 176 million euros.
