imageISLAMABAD: The Senate was apprised on Monday that 45,824 Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) have been blocked during last two years.

In a written reply to a question asked by Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan told the House that 5,170 CNICs were blocked in Quetta, 5,107 in Peshawar, 4,623 in Karachi West, 2,843 in Karachi East,, 1879 in Killa Abdullah, 1,691 in Rawalpindi,, 1632 in Karachi Malir, 1,438 in Karachi Central, 1,330 in Charsadda, 1006 in Chakwal, 994 in Islamabad, 913 in Pashin, 831 in Karachi South, 830 Mardan, 777 in Nowshera, 770 in Lahore, 718 in D I Khan, 599 in Sargodha, 576 in Hangu, 555 in Attock, 532 in Bannu, 501 in Lower Dir, 498 Kyber Agency, 418 Batagram, 379 in Hyderabad, 374 each in Swabi and Swat and 372 CNICs were blocked in Sialkot.
