imageKARACHI: Four ships C.V Maersk Kingston, C.V Hanjin Sandiego, M.T Jipro Neftts and M.T Lahore carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Tuesday.

Meanwhile another ship carrying containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 36% on Tuesday, where five ships namely ships C.V Maersk Kingston, C.V Hanjin Sandiego, M.V Yasa Unsal Sunar, M.T Jipro Neftts and M.T Lahore are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rape seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 109,043 tonnes comprises 72,891 tonnes imports and 36,062 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,656 containers (TEUs) (1,758 imports and 1,898 exports TEUs) were handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Container vessel 'Hanjin Sandiego' sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while another container vessel 'Maersk Kingston' is expected to sail on same day afternoon

Two ships CMA CGM Musset and M.T ST Dare carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
