jin-jongohwebKARACHI: Jin Jongoh of Republic of Korea succeeds to maintain his Olympic title of 50m Pistol.

According to media sources, Jongoh, who formerly achieved victory at the 10m Air Pistol event, wins his gold medal after men’s 50m Pistol Shooting final at Royal Artillery Barracks.

Speaking to media Jongoh said, “I knew if I won it would be second time that I had won this Olympic title, but I did not imagine I could do it.”

Sources added that the famous shooter began with final seven points behind his fellow athlete Choi Young Rae following for the qualifying round. Rae scored 8.1 and takes silver medal while Jongoh succeeded with 10.2.

He said, “First qualifying was not going well so I almost gave up on that idea; I tried not to be too ambitious and just to do my best. As soon as the final was over I said sorry, but Choi said, "It's okay, I'm glad I got silver". But 30 minutes later he was saying, "I hate you”.”

Feeling proud over his achievement Jongoh added that it is outstanding that Republic of Korea made their way for gold and silver, but he feels sorry for Rae.

Wang Zhiwei of China wins a bronze medal.

Last event of the Olympic shooting competition will take place today.
