Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would protest against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for delaying the sessions of both Houses of the Parliament for promulgation of a presidential ordinance to introduce tax amnesty scheme in the country.
This was stated by former Chairman Senate and PPP leader Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said here on Friday.
"We will not allow the PTI government to bypass the Parliament and introduce tax amnesty scheme through a presidential ordinance. We will protest in and outside the Parliament against this act of the government," he remarked.
He said in a statement that his party demanded the PTI government to bring the matter of tax amnesty scheme in the Parliament for discussion and approval. He said it was thinking of a dictator to run the government through ordinances.
"The government is avoiding facing the Parliament but it has to reply the Parliament," the PPP leader said.
He said that lives of the people were in miserable conditions due to price hike in the country, adding the remaining period of PTI into power would make lives of the common people more difficult. The PPP leader said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised to the nation that he would commit suicide instead of approaching the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for loan but despite tall claims, the government was seeking loan from the IMF.
