KARACHI: A committee comprising PEMRA and PBA entertainment channels met in Karachi yesterday to discuss the issues regarding content/dramas being aired on entertainment channels in Pakistan. Chairman PEMRA Muhammad Saleem Baig, DG Licensing Wakil Khan, GM Operations Muhammad Tahir, GM Monitoring Umar Waqas Qureshi, RGM Ashfaq Jamani and on behalf of PBA, Chairman Shakeel Masud, Tahir A Khan, Jerjees Seja, Sultana Siddiqui, Ahmad Zuberi, Athar Kazi, Imran Ansari and Abdul Jabbar attended the meeting.

PBA and PEMRA reached a consensus to constitute a five-member independent committee to review the complaints against content/dramas of entertainment channels and make its recommendations. The recommendations of the committee will be acceptable to all stakeholders. This committee will be set up in consultation with PEMRA and PBA. The committee will have an independent status that will work on an honorary basis. PBA will share a draft working paper regarding committee's scope of work with PEMRA within a week.-PR
