Wheat procurement drive to start from April 15

Wheat procurement campaign will start here from April 15 and all arrangements in the district have been completed. The Officials of Agriculture Department informed this during a meeting held here which was chaired by DCO Muhammad Haroon Rafique. The DCO directed the officials to ensure complete transparency in the procurement of wheat and no irregularity would be tolerated.
He called for provision of necessary facilities and assistance to the growers particularly during the procurement campaign. The DCO informed that about 250,830 tones of wheat would be procured from the district during the campaign and the wheat would be purchased at the rate of Rs 950 per 40kg.
