Putin removes Mutko as sports minister, makes him deputy prime minister

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to remove Vitaly Mutko as minister of sport, appointing him a deputy prime minister overseeing sports, tourism and youth policy instead, Russian news agencies reported on Wednesday.

Putin said Pavel Kolobkov, Mutko's deputy, would become the new sports minister.
