Australian wool indicator falls

The Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) said its eastern market indicator (EMI) fell 10 cents to 779 cents a kg clean at sales on Wednesday.
In Sydney, better types around 18 and 19 microns showed very little change, 20 microns only lost a few cents, 21 and 22 microns both struggled for support and fell 10 to 15 cents clean.
In Melbourne, 18/18.5 microns with 40nkt remained firm, 19 to 20 microns closed 15 cents cheaper, 21 to 23 microns was between 20 and 25 cents cheaper, while 24 microns and broader closed 15 cents cheaper.
In Fremantle, all microns were generally 15 cents cheaper for all types, with almost 30 percent of the offering passed in.
There were 32,387 bales offered, of which 19.4 percent was passed in. Sales continue in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle on Thursday.
