LONDON: European stock markets closed lower on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top shares down 0.99 percent at 5,815.19 points.
In Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.44 percent to 7,158.77 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dropped 1.07 percent to 3,672.77 points.
