KARACHI: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral (Retd.) Fasih Bukhari has not resigned, the media reported on Tuesday.

Earlier, international media sources claimed that Bukhari had tendered in his resignation a few hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued orders to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf inlculding 16 others in the Rental Power Projects (RPPs) case.

However, later sources in the foreign media said that the NAB chairman had not resigned.

On Tuesday, the apex court issued contempt of court notice to NAB for not implementing the court's orders in nabbing the accused in the rental power projects corruption case.

It may be mentioned here that Fasih Bukhai was made NAB chief under Section 6(b)(i) of National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, whereby, the president can appointment the Bureau chief after consultation with Leader of the House and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
