Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has been roped in to star opposite to King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan in his upcoming film ‘Raees’. This move has been made by the makers of ‘Raees’ when Pakistani actress visited India to meet her fans.
After an incredible debut of Fawad Khan, his ‘Humsafar’ co-star Mahira Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut with one of the biggest star of Indian cinema.
According to Indian media reports, She visited Mumbai last month after her television serial ‘Humsafar’ gained popularity and dropped subtle hints of the Hindi filmmakers whom she may consider working with. Obviously, the ones who were the quickest to move in were producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who finalised the VJ-turned-actress for ‘Raees’ being directed by Rahul Dholakia.
Previously it was reported that Sonam Kapoor or Kriti Sanon will play the female lead in ‘Raees’ but later director of the movie denied all the speculations.
ShahRukh Khan will play a role of a Gujarati don and Nawazuddin Sidddiqui will play the role of a cop. Meanwhile, the makers of the film revealed that Mahira Khan has been awarded with this cast because of her perfect looks and personality, which resembles the character script of the leading actress role in the particular movie.
Producer of the movie Ritesh Sidhwani took to Twitter to confirm the news and said, “Our leading lady in ‘Raees’ The Mahira Khan and Shahrukh Khan.”
However, the ‘Bol’ actress is yet to confirm news regarding her big Bollywood debut.
