Ahmad Mujtaba Pakistan’s unbeaten Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star affectionately called “The Wolverine” arrived in Pakistan on Sunday after his victorious return from Singapore.
Ahmed who was participating into ONE Championship, Asia’s largest MMA platform remained undefeated, after he took his winning tally 8-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Singapore’s Benedict Ang at ONE Championship on Friday.
Ahmad on back of his fiery pace and power attack was relentless against Ang, and the fight ended the same like his previous seven, as Ahmad was declared victorious by the judges.
Ahmad nicknamed “The Wolverine” due to his resemblance to the Marvel superhero, has spent years honing in his craft, reported Asia One.
“I grew up as the son of a teacher,” says Ahmad. “I was an average kid. Not too wealthy, but not too poor. I always had a lot of extra energy in myself and was skinny. I lived in Islamabad, then moved into Quetta, which was a rough place and I had to toughen myself up.”
Ahmad, who began his MMA training in 2010, at the suggestion of his friend now dreams big, Ahmad now wants to land into Ultimate Fighting Championships or more commonly the UFC.
“If I perform well, I’ll be expecting a call from the Ultimate Fighting Championships; the dream platform for every MMA athlete,” said Ahmad, reported Dawn.
