imageISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday said Pakistan and Nigeria had the potential to mutually share expertise in diverse fields, including defence, and science and technology.

The President expressed these views in a meeting with Nigerian Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu, here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

He said the two countries should forge closer military ties especially in areas of training and defence technologies.

He said Pakistan and Nigeria possessed vast potential for enhancing bilateral trade, which needed to be tapped.

The President said Pakistan and Nigeria faced common menace of terrorism and in this regard defence cooperation between the two countries should be further strengthened.

High Commissioner of Nigeria Dauda Dauladi, Secretary Defence Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak, Secretary Defence Production, Lt Gen (retd) Tanvir Tahir, and high officials of President Secretariat were also present on the occasion.
