business 400KARACHI: Two ships M.T AI-Soor-II and C.V CMA CGM Eiffel carrying 55,000 tonnes diesel oil and containers were allotted berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Qasim International Container Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 11th July. Meanwhile another container ship 'Hammonia Pacificum' also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at forty three percent on Wednesday where six ships namely C.V CMA CGM Eiffel, M.V Salta, M.V Cape, M.T Kaimon Galaxy, M.T STX Jaguar and M.T AI-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds, phosphoric acid, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 116,077 tonnes comprises 85,606 tonnes imports and 30,471 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,526 containers (1,004 imports and 1,522 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours.

Three ships M.V Cape, M.T Kaimon Galaxy and M.T STX Jaguar sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Eiffel and M.T AI-Soor-II are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Three ships C.V Hammonia Pacificum. M.T Vermillion Energy and M.T Argent Aster carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal. FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Thursday, 12th July. C.V New Delhi Express is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more ships C.V Asian Trader and C.V MSC Jade are due to arrive on Friday, 13th July, 2012.
