LAGOS: An explosion hit an area believed to be storing fireworks in the Nigerian economic capital Lagos on Wednesday, causing a fire that has begun to spread in the densely packed neighbourhood, an official said.
"The firecrackers were packed in a shop, and the firecrackers caught fire," an official with the National Emergency Management Agency said on condition of anonymity, cautioning that details were sketchy.
There was no immediate information on any casualties as a result of the blast.
