Covid-19 affects 136 more in Islamabad
The number of Covid-19 cases reported in the federal capital on Wednesday rose to 2,015 after another 136 tested positive in a single day.
According to the official data, out of 2,015 patients, 152 have recovered so far and 19 have died. On 27 May, a total number of 1879 cases were reported on 26 May 1,728 on 25 May 1,641 on 24 May 1,592, on 23 May 1,452, on 22 May 1,326, on May 21, 1,255 on May 20, 1,138 on May 19, 1,034 on May 18, 997 on May 17, 947 on May 16, 921 on May15.
Similarly, on May 14, 822 tested positive for Covid-19, May 13, 759, on May 12, 716, May 11, 679, May 10, 641, May 9, 609, May 8, 558, May 7, 521, May 6, 485, May 5, 464, May 4, 415, May 3, 393, on May 2, 365, and May 1, 343.
According to officials, Sector I-10, Tarlai, Lohi Bher, Bhara Kahu and Sector G-6 are hotspots of Covid-19.
The most-affected age group in the capital due to Covid-19 is between 30 to 39 years, the official data says, adding that 66 percent of coronavirus patients were males and 33 percent females.
Various markets in the city witnessed little rush because majority of people have not returned yet from their hometowns after Eidul Fitr holidays.
However, shopkeepers who resumed their businesses without following taking any steps for implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised to control Covid-19.
Senior officials of the Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) have conducted inspection of bus stands in the city for checking the implementation of the SOPs issued for public transport and fares. The ITA officials imposed fine against 48 vehicles for not implementing the SOPs.
