The sugar crises inquiry commission has sought four more days to submit its detailed forensic audit report to the prime minister.
Sources said that the commission sought four more days and was likely to submit its report after Eid.
The government had earlier granted three weeks time to the commission headed by Director General (DG) FIA Wajid Zia to submit detailed forensic report.
Following the recent wheat and sugar crises in the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan initially made a three-member inquiry committee under DG FIA Wajid Zia to dig into the matter.
While submitting its separate reports on wheat and sugar crises several weeks ago, the Inquiry Committee recommended the government for the constitution of a commission to do the forensic audit of sugar industry.
The federal cabinet allowed it and formed the Sugar Commission under DG FIA and comprising members from the Intelligence Bureau, the FIA, the SECP, the FBR, the Anti-Corruption Department, Punjab etc.
The Commission was asked to complete its task and submit its report on April 25 but the commission sought more time to complete its audit.
