Shipping activity at Port Qasim
- A total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya bean, Chemicals, LNG, LPG, Palm oil and Palm kernel respectively.
- While two more ships, Maersk Brooklyn and MOL Courage with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships, APL New York, Maersk Detroit, Asia Inspire and Tomson Gas carrying Containers, Palm oil and LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile two more ships, gas carrier Glory Harvest and General Cargo carrier Hong Fas Shinghai also arrived at Outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
A total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya bean, Chemicals, LNG, LPG, Palm oil and Palm kernel respectively.
Out of them, two ships, Chemicals carrier Tiger Winter and Gas carrier Tomson Gas sailed out to sea from MW-1 and EVTL on Wednesday morning, and two more ships, Container vessel, Kota Naked and Bulk cargo carrier Abu Alabyad are expected to sail from QICT and MW-4 on same day in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 161,848 tonnes, comprising 124,798 tonnes Imports cargo and 37,050 tonnes exports cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,878 Containers (2,928 TEUs Imports and 1,950 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
Five ships, MOL Generosity, ECO, Epic, Glory Harvest and Wil Force carrying Containers, Coal, LPG and LNG are expected take berths at QICT, PIBT, HFP&S, SSGC and PGPCL respectively on Wednesday.
While two more ships, Maersk Brooklyn and MOL Courage with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
