Factories be allowed to run normal-time operation: TMAP chief

Chairman Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (TMAP) Jahangir has said, "We are the Towel Manufacturers of Pakistan. We are a 100% export oriented industry and comprise of small and medium scale factories. It has already been a week of a formal lockdown in Pakistan, even longer in Sindh.
Our factories are closed and our workers are idle. Another two weeks of such a closure will mean the death of many factories. That will be a tragedy for us all as well as our workers. Many of our workers reside in the premises of the factories itself and for them to go back to work will not increase the risk of the virus spreading. In fact our complete closure will cause them to disperse all over the country."
He said, "We request the government to allow operating our factories on at least 25% of our workforce of normal times. -PR
