District administration, Peshawar sealed and suspended the wheat quota of two flour mills over the selling of official flour in black market. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mohammad Ali Asghar, the Assistant Commissioner (AC), Shah Alam, Dr Ihtesham-ul-Haq conducted raids on various flour mills on Budhni Road and suspended quota of two flour mills over selling official flour in black market.

The Deputy Commissioner had received a tip that some flour mills are selling official flour in black market that prompted action including their sealing and suspension of wheat quota.

Deputy Commissioner has directed all administrative officers to check all flour mills of the district on daily basis and in case of finding black marketing of flour, then initiate legal proceedings against them.

Meanwhile, the strike of the bread makers (nanbais) continued on the second day creating problems for the people in finding roti and leaving with no other option than eating rice.

The nanbais are protesting to force the government to issue a new rate list after the increase in the prices of wheat. According to Abdul Majeed Qureshi, an office-bearer of the Nanbais Association, the protest would continue till the government accepted their demands.

Qureshi shared that rumours were circulating that the government was planning to launch a crackdown against them. He clarified that the government had made them jobless and the crackdown would not deter them from demanding their legitimate rights.
