Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ended close to unchanged after a session of rangebound trade on Thursday, with the market waiting for the US Agriculture Department's updated harvest forecast next week, traders said. The benchmark CBOT December corn contract found support at Wednesday's low of $3.85-1/2 a bushel.
USDA said on Thursday morning that weekly export sales of corn totaled 565,100 tonnes, in line with forecasts for 400,000 tonnes to 800,000 tonnes. The Trump administration is expected to announce by Friday details of a US biofuels policy deal to help farmers angry over waivers granted to refiners exempting them from using corn-based ethanol and other biofuels, four sources familiar with the matter said.
