German's Youth Ambassador Marion Pfennigs visited Lahore Arts Council (LAC) and took keen interest in the diverse sections of the Lahore Arts Council here on Friday at Alhamra Art Centre. This message was expressed during a meeting between Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Ather Ali Khan and German Youth Ambassador Marion Pfennigs. Lahore Arts Council and Ambassador Marion Pfennigs agreed to empower their management levels and assured people-to-people contacts to further strengthen bilateral relations. Both sides also agreed to explore opportunities in arts, literature and other cultural dimensions.
In this regard, a four-member delegation from German embassy including German's Youth Ambassador Marion Pfennigs, Svenja Windsch, Sanjeev Pokharel and Iftikhar Ahmed appreciated the hard work of Alhamra Arts Council.
On the occasion, Ather Ali Khan briefed Marion Pfennigs and her team about Alhamra Art Gallery, Academy of Performing Arts, Adbi Bethak and Cultural activities in the council.
He said it is the key objective of Lahore Arts Council to promote "our colorful culture and wonderful traditions to the whole world and make the world believe that Pakistan is the great place to visit".
He further said that Alhamra would always give its best to boost the mutual relationship with all countries. Khan also recognized the services of Germany embassy in Pakistan for promotion of arts and culture.
Marion Pfennigs said that Pakistan has a long history of art and culture relationship with the Germany and there is a need to build upon the understanding and respect for both sides.
