A hot and dry weather is expected to prevail over the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Tuesday. It said that a very hot weather is likely to continue in Sindh during daytime. Scattered dust-thunderstorm with rain is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab and Kashmir, while isolated falls in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat and Makran Divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday.
"Continental air is prevailing in most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to intensify on Wednesday," the Met said. Weather in Karachi is expected to remain fair and partly cloudy with chances of drizzle in the next 48 hours. Temperature is expected to remain up to 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday with humidity 80 percent and up 34 degrees Celsius on Thursday with humidity 75 percent.
Scattered dust-thunderstorm with rain hit Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand and Hazara divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir and isolated falls in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan and Makran Divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan. Maximum temperature was recorded in Jaccobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu and Larkana 45 degrees Celsius, each, Padidan and Mohenjo-Daro 44.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Murree as 28 mm, D.G Khan 14 mm, Balakot 11 mm, Malamjabba 10 mm, Kasur 9, M.B Din 8 mm, Kakul, T.T Singh and Bahawalnagar 7 mm, each, Pattan, Dir 6 mm, each and Hafizabad 5 mm.
