The provincial minister for labour and human resource made an unannounced visit of different brick kilns at Jia Bagga on Monday to inspect if they have executed the 2016 Restriction of Employment of Children at Brick Kilns Ordinance.
Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was accompanied by Lahore's Labour District Officer, Syed Hasnat Javaid, and Labour Department officers. During his inspection of the Khalid and Manzoor Brick Companies, the minister said he was unhappy with under-14 children playing at these brick kilns near their working parents and families though they were later found enrolled in the nearby Government Girls Primary School in Karyal and were on leave because of illness.
