Japanese University's students visit PU

Osaka University Japan's Department of Urdu Head Professor Soyama Maney with students visited Punjab University Oriental College Department of Urdu. Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Professor Dr Ismattullah Zahid, Chairman Department Professor Dr Muhammad Kamran and Dr Zahid Munir Amir welcomed the guests and briefed them academic programmes of the department. Talking to the delegation, Dr Kamran said PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran had promoted research culture in the department.
Dr Ismattullah said there were strong relations between Osaka University and PU and a large number of Japanese students had completed their degrees in Urdu from Punjab University. In his address, Professor Soyama Maney thanked Dr Ismattullah Zahid and Dr Muhammad Kamran and said PU was the greatest and oldest seat of learning in the region and Oriental College's Department of Urdu was one of the best departments of Urdu language in the world. He said he and his students were much impressed by the cultural heritage and academia of Lahore. Later, Dr Kamran presented books to Professor Soyama Maney.
