Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has dismissed three employees for possessing fake degrees. Sources told Business Recorder on Thursday that on the directives of Chairman TCP Rizwan Ahmed, the management/ Human Resource Division of the state-run grain trader is engaged to verify the educational degrees/certificates of all employees, particularly those appointed during the tenure of previous government.
During the verification process, three educational degrees/certificates have been found to be bogus/fake and the concerned board has confirmed the same. After confirmation of fake/bogus degree, the TCP management served charge sheet on three employees. In their replies, all three employees submitted their explanations on December 2, 2014, wherein they admitted the committal of the said act of fraud/misconduct and requested the management to condone their unlawful acts and allow them to continue their employment in TCP.
Sources said that Muhammad Anwar Imam Godown Assistant HR-11 session, Atif Ali Khan Junior Assistant accounts division and Muhammad Ibran Junior Assistant cash section have been dismissed from the services of TCP with effect from December 8, 2014 under section 15 (2) (iv) of West Pakistan Industrial and commercial Employment (Standing Orders) Ordinance 1968 as educational certificates/degrees were fake.
Sources said that TCP started a degree/certification verification plan a year ago to take action against the fake degree holders; however despite several reminders some staff members are still reluctant to submit their educational certificates. "A numbers of TCP employees, including Staff Officer (SO) to Chairman, have not submitted their educational certificates/degrees with the TCP Human Resource Division for a formal verification," they added.
Meanwhile, in order to keep the cotton procurement transparent, TCP has also taken action against two of its officers deputed at Sukkar Cotton Procurement Center. Ghulam Shabbir Ansari Deputy Manager was posted as in-charge Sukkar procurement center from Mirpur Khas, however, he has been transferred to TCP head office following some complaints against him.
Niaz Memon manager cotton procurement Sukkar has made an OSD (on special duty). Now, Ibrar Siddique, Manager from Mirpurkhas, has been the charge of Sukkar Cotton Procurement Center, while Shariq Muzammil, Deputy Manger, has been appointed as in-charge Mirpurkhas with immediate effect.
