Samsung rolls out Android Oreo update for another older model
Samsung’s older smartphone models are on their way to get the latest Android Oreo update. With Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge receiving the update few days ago, Galaxy A5 (2017) has now joined the list too.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has started to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update few weeks before the formal schedule. However, the update is initially rolling out in Russia and Romania but will roll out for other markets soon.
Samsung’s Android 8.0 Oreo update includes Samsung Experience 9.0 that boosts the original user interface, contains Bixby automation features, features an improved keyboard, and has improved security integration. There will be some performance improvements and tweaks as well, as per Tech Juice.

However, the new update also requires the latest versions of few pre-installed apps including Samsung Pay, Samsung Notes, Email, and Samsung Internet and will have to be manually updated after the upgrade. It is also recommended to back up the data before upgrading the phone, reported Phone World.
The 2017 model of Galaxy A5 was launched back in January last year with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and got an Android Nougat update last September. Finally, the phone is set to get the latest Android Oreo update now.
