KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 168,170 tonnes of cargo comprising 138,351 tonnes of import cargo and 29,819 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 138,351 comprised of 55,815 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 22,261 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 14,041 tonnes of DAP & 46,234 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,819 tonnes comprised of 14,192 tonnes of Containerized Cargo & 15,627 tonnes of Clinkers.
Nearly, 5544 containers comprising of 4249 containers import and 1295 containers export were handled on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 405 of 20’s and 1922 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 295 of 20’s and 386 of 40’s loaded containers while 60 of 20’s and 84 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 06 ships namely Ym Express, Cosco Antwerp, Easterly Beech, Cma Cgm Titus, Ksl Huayang and Loyal have berthed at Karachi Port.
Only one ship namely MT Mardan has sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 10 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them three ships, MSC Adonis, Maersk Chicago and Chemroad Zenith left the port on Wednesday morning on 7th June, & another General cargo ship, ‘Valiant’ is expected to sail on same day.
Cargo Through put during last 24 hours stood at 192,872tonnes, comprising 157,882 tones imports Cargo and 34,990 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,477 Containers (2,155 TEUs Imports and 1,322 TEUs export) was handled at the port.
There are 11 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them three ships, Orange Victoria, Kanha and MSC Tianping& two more ships, Maersk Pelepas and Al-Karama carrying Gas oil, LPG, Container and Coal are expected to take berths at FOTCO, EVTL, QICT and PIBT respectively on Wednesday, 7th June, &another containership, APL South-emption is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, 8th June, 2023.
