ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to explain whether the bureau has deducted the withholding tax on account of payment made to the Washington-based asset recovery firm Broadsheet LLC.
In this regard, the FBR wrote a letter to the NAB here on Thursday.
A senior FBR official confirmed that the FBR sent a letter to the NAB for the enforcement of law. Under section 152 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, withholding tax was required to be deducted on making payment to any non-resident person.
