Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked the administrations of schools and colleges in Lahore to ensure completion of the process of spray during the closure of the educational institutions and they would be bound to submit a formal certificate regarding completion of spray and town committees would monitor the process.
He said that private housing societies are also bound to get sprayed and the management committees of those societies not implementing these instructions would be dissolved. Presiding over a meeting with regard to reviewing the steps taken for eradication of dengue virus, here on Wednesday he said that arrangements have been made for importing medicines and machinery on emergent basis for elimination of dengue virus and 300 foggers would arrive by air from Germany within next 10 day whereas.
Shahbaz Sharif said elected representatives, administration and concerned departments are working round the clock for elimination of dengue virus and all resources are being utilised for this purpose. He said that best treatment facilities have been ensured to the patients in the hospitals and additional staff and machines have also been provided in these hospitals. He issued directives for carrying out spray in all the recreational places, parks and lakes.
He said that a 12-member team of experts from Sri Lanka would arrive in Lahore which would provide technical assistance to the government regarding spray and other matters. He said that besides government hospitals, private hospitals have also started providing free medical facilities to the patients of dengue fever and the cooperation of private hospitals with the government in this regard is commendable. He said that it was collective responsibility of all segments of the society to come forward in this hour of trial and play their due role for service to the ailing humanity.
He said that town committees should monitor the provision of free medical facilities to the dengue patients admitted in private hospitals. He directed that the a special committee comprising of elected representatives and officers of health department should hold talks with the owners of private labs with regard to deciding the rates of blood test.
