Amir, Shadab, Zaman and rest all set for home debut

The much anticipated Independence Cup, featuring the Pakistan team against the ICC’s World XI is the hottest thing going on in the cricketing world.

The 3-match T20 series with the potential of opening the gates of international cricket in Pakistan for good, will be an opportunity for the Men in Green to showcase their skills in front of the home crowd.

A number of Pakistani cricketers will be making their debut on the home soil; here are some of them:

Mohammad Amir

The leader of Pakistan’s lethal bowling unit has surprisingly not played an international match in front of a home crowd before. Amir made his international debut during the ICC World T20 in 2009, just three months after the Sri Lanka’s bus tragedy.

Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman, the sailor cum aggressive opening batsman is the latest heartthrob of Pakistan cricket. Zaman made international debut in 2017, and was phenomenal at the ICC Champions Trophy, where he became first batsman from Pakistan to score three 50plus scores in his career's first four ODIs, including a famed hundred in the final against arch rivals India at the final.

 Hasan Ali

Ali grabbed world attention during his exceptional showing at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017,where he claimed 13 wickets aand was honoured Man of the Series.

The right-arm fast bowler , who made his international debut a year ago have not played an international game in Pakistan, but is eager to showcase to play for his countrymen at the home soil.

Shadab Khan

The spin sensation Shadab Khan, has seen a meteoric rise since making his debut this year, against the West Indies in the Caribbean. The teenager then hit the jackpot when he outsmarted India’s Yuvraj Singh in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Rumman Raees

Raees, known for his theatrics on the field was handed his international cap for Pakistan during the all important semi-final against England in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Raees however, didn’t disappoint after the left-arm seamer grabbed two wickets, including the prized scalp of Alex Hales.

Usman Khan Shinwari

The 23-year-old Usman Khan Shinwari, is a left-arm fast bowler who was called up to the T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2013 at UAE. Shinwari’s has however, grown as a bowler during his stint with the Karachi Kings in the PSL.

Like other youngsters, Shinwari to would be eager to don the Pakistan cap in front of the home crowd.

Mohammad Nawaz

Mohammad Nawaz, the left-arm spinner has emerge as a bright star in the country’s T20 circuit, where he has been a crucial figure for the Quetta Gladiators.

Faheem Ashraf

The right-arm seamer Ashraf, was one of the three Pakistanis that debuted in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

The 23-year-old, considered a bowling all-rounder is in line to make his debut at home.
